My name is Charles Thunyakij, I am a visual artist, educator, cook, ceramicist, bookbinder, writer, and lover of insects. Professionally as an Artist Educator I have worked with various communities, artists, museums, and non-profits for the last 10 years. My portraiture explores quiet and universal connections of humanity, allowing us to reclaim our own self-worth. Many of my illustrations explore the whimsical awe in the relationships between humans and nature. My work strives to play: connecting the absurdity of daily living with the whimsy of imagination and the natural world. With detailed drawings in pencil and ink, my illustrations are but glimpses through windows to a quiet world of dreams.
