three pop up dinners held in 2017

Multi-course Pop-up dinners to raise money for Pa (dad in Thai).​
In January of 2017, my father suffered a stroke while abroad in Thailand. These Pop-up dinners were created to raise money for his healthcare and recovery.
​
With the support of family and friends, we raised over $4,000 to help with medical expenses.

Mingei International Museum

Students work with Mingei's Outreach Coordinator and Education Specialist to create unique works of art inspired by Mingei's Collection.​

We celebrate the student artists and their experience each year with family and friends, with a student show.
Simple Art Machines
The New Children's Museum
December 2015-May 2016
Simple Art Machines, is an installation in the New Children's Museum's Innovator's Lab Series, in which visitors of all ages are encouraged to innovate through play and creation.
​
Charles created a studio in which children young and old are encouraged to create a Rube Goldberg machine, exploring the relationships of cause and effect in an art making process.

KPBS Studios and The Minge
April 10th and 18th 2015
Artist are invited to work with children ages 6 months to 6 years old to help create a painting for a fundraising auction.
Charles has taken part in this program for the past 3 years, helping to introduce unique and fun projects for the children; ranging from injecting bubble wrap with paint to wiring led's with not even 3 year olds.

portrait me: was a part of The New Children's Museum's Artist Studio's Sceries. Where working artist were invited to work with visitors and share their practice.
Visitors of all ages learned how to draw portraits by using traditional as well as new technologies to explore their understanding of self and others.
